Did your doctor recommend a check-up or screening? Are you proactive about your health? Then you’ll want to know what preventive services our Medicare Advantage plans cover.

You know the old saying. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. That’s especially true when your health is concerned.

Because preventive services are covered under Original Medicare, our Medicare Advantage plans also cover them. Using your preventive benefits is a great way to get the most out of your plan.

So what’s covered?

Here’s an overview of some of the things considered preventive care. Most services are covered once a year. Some services are covered more often. Some services are covered every two years. You can call the Customer Service number on the back of your Medicare Advantage ID card and we'll help.

  • Annual wellness visit
  • Screenings for diabetes, certain kinds of cancer and depression
  • Mammograms
  • Flu and pneumonia shots and hepatitis B vaccines
  • Bone mass measurement
  • Screening and counseling for tobacco and alcohol use

When you have one of our Medicare Advantage plans, you also get an extra physical exam each year for a low copay—anywhere from $0 to $25.
